Data CATS assists students, faculty, staff, and community members with data analytics work.
Mohamed Mostafa
Mohamed specializes in Computer Science and Economics, specifically for exploratory data analysis and machine learning. He is most proficient in Python and R with sufficient experience in Excel and SQL.
Jack Schwanewede
Jack is a Senior Cognitive Science major with a minor in Data Science. He has taken classes from several departments, such as Computer Science, Psychology, Data Science and Sociology. He has programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, and data/statistics experience with R, Stata, and SQL. Jack is familiar with deep learning models and data scraping methods, and has created programs in Virtual Reality using Unity and C#.
Jordan Whitehouse
Jordan is a Senior doing the CIS major in Data Science. She transferred into Davidson Fall 2024. She has experience with Python, R, Java & SQL. Jordan is also an Embedded Tutor for CSC110: Data Science in Society and DAT153: Database Programming.
Hakan Yavuzkara
Hakan is a Sophomore with a double major in Physics and Computer Science. He has experience with Java, Python, PyTorch, Pandas, Mathematica, Git, and Linux. He uses Wolfram Mathematica very often, and is a Wolfram Student Ambassador and a Wolfram Community featured contributor. He has multiple statistics and data-based projects with Mathematica.
Patrick Grimes
Patrick is a junior Data Science major and German minor. He has programming experience in Python, R, Java, SQL, and STATA, with an interest in data visualization/analysis and database systems.
Srijit Banerjee
Srijit is a senior Computer Science major and Economics minor. Through past internships and projects, he has gained experience with REST APIs, data mining visualization tools, and machine learning libraries. He has worked with programming languages including Java, Python, C, JavaScript, and SQL.
Calli Robles
Calli is a senior Sociology major and Data Science minor. Through previous coursework and internships, she has programming experience in STATA, R, and Python. She is also proficient in general statistics, quant/qual data analysis, and research methods. Calli is also an embedded tutor for CSC 121: Programming & Problem Solving and an apprentice teacher for SPA 103: Intensive Spanish.
Alp Niksarli
Alp has experience with full stack web development and data mining using frameworks like Scrapy, Beautiful Soup, and Selenium. He also has experience analyzing data with Pandas dataframes or Matplotlib visuals, as well as some background in machine learning using TensorFlow and Keras APIs. He knows programming languages such as C++, Java and Javascript.
Yurdanur Yolcu
Yurdanur is a sophomore studying economics and computer science, with experience in R, Python, Git, and Java, and a strong interest in data analysis, modeling, and extracting insights from large datasets.
