Make an Appointment
Call the Center for Student Health and Well-Being at 704-894-2300. These appointments will be scheduled every other Tuesday morning.
The Test
When you arrive for your appointment, you will first speak with a nurse and then provide a urine sample or blood sample. If a vaginal or rectal screening is needed, a nurse will advise you on self-collecting your swab. If you plan to have a urine test, do not urinate for at least one hour prior to your appointment time.
Your Test Results
A secure message will be sent to your student portal as soon as results have been received and reviewed by one of our providers.
Protect Yourself From STIs
Condoms and dental dams are the best way to protect yourself during oral, anal, or vaginal intercourse.
Make sure you know how to use protection and use it every time you have sex.
People using birth control still need to protect themselves as pills, Depo, NuvaRing, Nexplanon and IUDs do not provide protection from STIs.
Periodically, the Mecklenburg County Health Department provides "Free STI Testing Clinics." Please contact the Center for Student Health at 704-894-2300 for specific dates and locations. This information is also available on .
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Center for Student Health & Well-Being.
